The Viru Film Fund, together with Ida-Viru Investment Agency and Tervisekeskus Corrigo, announces the **Kaljo Kiisk’s Young Filmmaker Scholarship** competition!
Applications must be submitted by **September 15** to Jõhvi Municipal Government via email at **johvi@johvi.ee**, with the subject **”K. Kiisk Scholarship.”**
Eligibility:
• Open to filmmakers up to 40 years old with works produced in the past three years.
• The jury evaluates the artistic achievements of the filmmaker or creative team.
• The scholarship amount is **at least 3,000 euros**.
• The scholarship is awarded **once per year**.
How to Apply:
• Open to directors, producers, cinematographers, composers, artists, and creative teams.
• Both individuals and legal entities can submit candidates.
• Required documents: a **motivation letter**, **portfolio**, and **CV**.
Kaljo Kiisk Young Filmmaker Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to young Estonian filmmakers.
The purpose of the scholarship is to honor the memory of film director and actor Kaljo Kiisk (1925–2007), who was originally from Ida-Virumaa, and to encourage young filmmakers to discover and document the diversity of Ida-Virumaa.
The competition is open to feature films, documentaries, and music videos, including both full-length and short films, that have been filmed (even partially) in Ida-Virumaa. The scholarship can be applied for by directors, producers, cinematographers, composers, artists, and creative teams under the age of 40 for works completed in the last three years. Proposals for the scholarship may be submitted by both legal entities and private individuals.
The first scholarship was awarded in 2010. The initiators were: Viru Keemia Grupp, Jõhvi Concert Hall, Estonian Cultural Endowment, Jõhvi Municipality Government, and Tallinnfilm.
The scholarship was reinstated in 2022 at the initiative of the Viru Film Fund and the Jõhvi Municipality Government.
